The National Weather Service in Denver has issued two flash flood warnings this afternoon for Larimer County.
One warning for east-central Larimer County is in effect until 6:15 p.m., and states excessive rainfall over the Cameron Peak burn scar may result in debris flows moving through the Buckhorn Creek drainage. The warning area includes Moondance Way, Stringtown Gulch, Big Bear and Lower Buckhorn on County Road 27 above Masonville.
The other was issued through 5:45 p.m. for southeast portions of the Cameron Peak burn scar in southeastern Larimer County, including Upper Buckhorn along County Road 44H and Crystal Mountain.
Both warnings state that debris flows of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials are possible, and some locations could experience flash flooding.
It warns people to move to higher ground now to protect their lives.
